Day 1 Arrival in Mumbai
The Southern Splendors Tour Package begins with your arrival on the International Terminal of the Mumbai Airport. You will be received by our representative and will be escorted to the pre-reserved hotel in Mumbai.
Day 2 Excursion in Mumbai
Well, Good Morning! After a good night’s sleep and delicious breakfast, start the One Day Tour in Mumbai. Visit the Gateway of India, Prince of Whales Museum, Rajabai Clock Tower, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus that is a World Heritage Site and the magnificent building of Brihan Mumbai Corporation. All these amazing monuments were built during the British Colonial Rule in India and now have become the identity of Mumbai.
Day 3 Transfer to Bangalore (986 kms)
Spend the morning in leisure. During the day you will be transferred to the airport to board flight to reach the next destination in the tour package. Reach Bangalore and check in the hotel to unwind and relax.
Day 4 Excursion in Bangalore
Relish a yummy breakfast in the morning and start exploring the ‘Silicon City of India’. Here you will visit the famous Bangalore Palace built in 1944, then visit Isckon Temple and Nandi Temple followed by gorgeous gardens and glasshouse of Lal Bagh.
Day 5 Transfer to Mysore (140 kms)
Early morning transfer to Mysore. The ‘City of Palaces’ is home to some of the most beautiful palaces of the world. In Mysore you will visit the Mysore Palace; the Indo-Saracenic Palace is the palace of the Wodeyars, the royal family of Mysore. Also visit the Folklore Museum and Jagmohan Palace; the 1861 built palace also belongs to the Wodeyars. Mysore Palace looks stunning in the evening when it is lit by a thousand lights, it looks heavenly. Night stay in the hotel.
Day 6 Transfer to Ooty (170 kms)
After breakfast visit the Brindavan Garden of Mysore, the gardens are located at the Krishnarajasangara Dam which is built over the Kaveri River. Afternoon transfer will be scheduled to the next destination of the tour i.e. Ooty. Spend the evening in leisure, explore the markets of Ooty and take a walk.
Day 7 Excursion in Ooty
Ooty in Tamil Nadu is probably the most beautiful hill station and is known as the ‘Queen of Hill stations’ in India. It comes under the Nilgiri Biosphere which has amazing valleys, hills and diverse wildlife and hence many areas in Ooty are protected. Traverse in Ooty and enjoy some of the greenest and energizing views you have ever seen. There are various places in Ooty for the nature lovers. Visit the Emerald Lake, Stone House, Government Botanical Garden spread in an area of 55 acres and the Government Rose Garden with over 20, 000 varieties of roses. After visit to all these amazing places relax in the hotel.
Day 8 Transfer to Cochin (300 kms)
Transfer from Ooty to Cochin. Situated by the Arabian Sea, it is also called the ‘Queen of Arabian Sea’. Reach and rest in Kochi/ Cochin.
Day 9 Excursion in Cochin
In Cochin you will visit the Mattancherry Palace built in 1557 by the Portuguese, then visit the Jewish Synagogue and stroll in the local spice market in the Jew Town. During dusk visit the appealing sight of the Chinese Fishing Nets which are used by the local fishermen. Take rest at night in the hotel in Cochin.
Day 10 Transfer to Kumarakom (48 kms)
In the morning drive to Kumarakom after the breakfast. Kumarakom is known for the famous Houseboats of Kerala, called ‘Kettuvalam’ in Malayalam. Experience the tranquil waters of the sea and the refreshing breeze from the sailing houseboats. Equipped with all kinds of modern facilities, staying in the houseboat is going to be a unique and memorable experience.
Day 11 Transfer to Periyar (116 kms)
Have a tempting breakfast in the morning and drive to Periyar, another famous tourist spot in Kerala. The drive to Periyar is very refreshing due to the views of greenery from the cultivation of rice in most of the areas. On reaching, change and relax for some time and then proceed for the visit of the Tea, Coffee and spice plantations. Shop for some pure Indian quality spices in the markets of Periyar and spend the night in the hotel.
Day 12 Excursion in Periyar
Morning visit to the Periyar National Park, spread in an area of 952 km sq, it is one of the largest national parks in Southern India. There are numerous species of animals here like the Indian elephants, leopards, lion tailed macaques, Indian Bison, etc. You can either choose to have a Safari Ride or can have a boat ride in the national Park. The Park also is a Tiger Reserve and you will spot them during your safari inside the reserve. During the day, the other places to visit in Periyar are the Periyar Lake and Mudra Culture Centre, etc.
Day 13 Transfer to Madurai (167 kms)
Post breakfast transfer to Madurai. Madurai is an ancient city with several ancient temples such as the Shree Meenakshi Amman Temple. It is the second largest temple in India and is spread over 6 hectares of land. After this, visit the Thirupparankundram Murugan and the Koodal Azhagar Temple. The fabulous architecture and decorations of the temple are very pleasing to watch.
Day 14 Transfer to Chennai (462 kms)
Have a relaxing morning, visit the Gandhi Museum where you will get to know about the Indian culture and about the Father of the Nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, later during the day get driven to the Airport for the flight to Chennai. The capital of Tamil Nadu is the place where you will reach next.
Day 15Excursion in Chennai
This day of the Southern Splendors Tour will be spent in exploring the city of Chennai. Visit to the following places will be scheduled- Fort St. George, San Thome Basilica, Government Museum, Ripon Building (Neoclassical architecture), Kapaleeswarar and Parthasarthy Temple.
Day 16 Departure
